Excited Buhari obviously happy to return home

Some residents of Calabar, on Friday, said that the return of President Muhammadu Buhari to Nigeria cleared the air over his health status.

The residents told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in separate interviews in
Calabar that even though all humans were mere mortals, one would not die until it was his or her time.

The president arrived Nigeria at about 7.40 a.m on Friday from London where he was on medical vacation.

The plane carrying him landed at Kaduna airport following the closure of the Abuja airport on March 8 to effect repairs on the runway, and he was flown by helicopter to the presidential villa in Abuja.

Dr Joseph Odok, a lecturer at University of Calabar, told NAN that Buhari’s return had rubbished all the rumours about him.

Odok, who said it was wrong for any human being to wish another dead, urged Nigerians to always hope the best and pray for leaders.

He added that the president’s return had proven that all the phone calls he made to top government officials while in London were true.

“We are very happy to have our President back. Nigerians have seen him today and we are hopeful that things will be better soon’’, he said.

Mrs Patience Idung, a business woman, also told NAN that she was happy that the president had returned.

She said “I am happy to see President Muhammadu Buhari back. He is even looking fresher than the pictures I earlier so on social network.

The president’s return would further drive the affairs of the country forward, she added.

Idung said it was time for Nigerians to drum support for the president to further help him to fight corruption and insecurity in the country.

It’s great Buhari is back, though according to reports credited to him on arrival, he shall return almost immediately or sooner for recommended tests and evaluation among other care measures. I wish him well—quickest recovery should be his! Meanwhile, being one-sided helps no issues get better. Contrary to the lecturer’s claim, it wasn’t all about certain people claiming the president was dead or wishing him dead according to the lecturer. It’s also the fact that those around him, say the Nigerian government refused to tell the public about the health condition of the president when he went on vacation and couldn’t return as expected. It’s the senate’s disclosure of a letter he wrote lawmakers regarding his vacation and health that gave a clue to what’s happening. This include the fact that he handed over power to his VP to act in his place. Honest and serious people who understands life, dead even governance and the president wouldn’t hide the president’s sickness. After all, life controls itself or us—we don’t controls life. It leaves when it chooses or accidentally in some cases of gun shot and automobile accident, etc. Hiding one’s health condition or sickness, the president’s in this circumstance can’t bring back life that feels the time to exit. Africans and indeed Nigerians must grow up and understand life and dead as inevitable while also respecting the sacrosanct of life and stop the barbaric killing. One serious and dangerous thing not being open to public disclosure, especially in matters such as president’s health is speculations, rumors to fill in the gap created by those who should have made such speculations avoidable. In the West, especially USA , if the president and other government officials are sick the hospital they are taken and diagnosis are usually disclosed to the media/public. Anyway, most people didn’t and will not wish Buhari or any president dead. The lecturer should reason as someone who is educated and conscious, even exposed. Knowing what the health issues are could assist people wish the president well. Those who believe in prayer will even pray for him to recover quick, yet some might also think evil and act irrationally. That is life and its reality.
