Chief Emeka Ojukwu Jnr, son of the late Biafran leader, Emeka Odumegwu Ojukwu, on Monday picked the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) nomination form for the House of Representatives in the 2015 elections.

Apart from Ojukwu, Dr Hygers Igwebuike and Chief Mike Nkwocha also picked the party’s nomination forms in Awka.

Speaking with newsmen shortly after purchasing his form, Ojukwu said he was contesting to liberate the people of Nnewi North/Nnewi South and Ekwusigo Federal Constituency.

Ojukwu, who is the sole administrator of Nnewi North local council area, promised to make good laws that would promote empowerment of the youth, if elected.

He expressed confidence that the party would perform creditably, stressing that apart from the presidential poll; the party would field candidates for other positions.

According to him, the leadership of the party will get to greater heights under Chief Victor Umeh.

On his part, Igwebuike, a former governorship candidate of Accord Party in 2013, said that the stakeholders in APGA prevailed on him to vie for the Orumba North and South Federal Constituency seat.

According to him, the federal constituency has suffered poor representation in the recent political dispensation.

“I seek to lay a solid foundation that will last. The federal constituency is rich in natural resources and I want to see how they can be harnessed for the good of my people,” Igwebuike said.

Another aspirant, Nkwocha, said he was vying for the Anaocha, Dunukofia and Njikoka Federal Constituency to give the people “effective and people-oriented representation.”.
