Ex-governor Alamieyeseigha's son commits suicide in Dubai

The death has been announced of Oyamuyefa Alamieyeseigha, son of former governor of Bayelsa state, Chief Diepreye Alamieyeseigha.

Oyamuyefa died in Dubai, United Arab Emirates at the weekend.

He was said to have committed suicide. The reason for the suicide was not stated.
Oyamuyefa attended University of Wollongong in Dubai, between 2009 and 2012, according to a Linkedin entry in his name.

President Goodluck Jonathan meanwhile said he received with shock and immense sadness news of the death and has sent a message of condolence to the Alamieyeseighas.

Jonathan served as deputy governor to Alamieyeseigha before the latter was impeached in December 2005.
