Nembe City ended a winless start to the Nigeria Premier League season after claiming a lone goal win over Taraba United in Omuku in one of three rescheduled matches played.

The win for Nembe, which came through a John Eze goal just before the hour mark, still leaves the Bayelsa club bottom of the league with seven points from 10 matches and six points from safety.

In other matches, second half goals from Tamen Medrano with a penalty and Dele Olorundare gave Sunshine Stars a 2-0 win over Giwa FC in Akure while Enyimba fell to a late 2-1 loss at Bayelsa United.

Eric Frimpong had put Bayelsa ahead midway through the first half. Abdulrahman Bashir equalised for Enyimba two minutes later and with the match heading for a draw, Ananiyikaye Adeleye scored a stoppage time winner for Bayelsa United.

The win for Bayelsa United lifts them to fourth spot with 17 points, two points off leaders Sharks, and leaves Enyimba mid-table with 15 points from 11 matches.
