‎Security situation in Yagba Federal Constituency, Kogi State, continued to degenerate as gunmen launched a fresh attack on a church in the area, abducting a yet to be ascertained number of worshippers.

‎The assault happened in the early hours of Sunday, 30 November, when worshippers arrived for service at New Cherubim and Seraphim Church, Ejiba, Yagbawest Local Government Area, LGA. No sooner had they gathered than bandits swooped on the church, forcing many worshippers to scamper for safety, while the less fortunate among them were caught and led to the bush. Among the abducted were the priest, popularly called Orlando, and his wife.

‎The incident underscores the growing security challenges facing communities in Kogi State.
