The Kogi State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP has flagged off its campaign ahead of the state’s October 19 local government election.
Presenting flags on Monday to chairmanship and councillorship candidates of the party in Lokoja, the Chairman, Hon. Enemona Anyebe, charged them to go to the polls and bring victory for the PDP.
He expressed optimism that the party would win the local government polls.
He said the PDP will seek redress in court if the elections are manipulated and do not follow due process.
In his goodwill message, the state Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Tijani Aruwa on behalf of the leadership of the party called on PDP members to come out en masse to vote for their candidates, noting that October 19th polls will be election and not selection as promised by the Kogi State Independent Election Commission, KSIEC.
Aside from the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, other parties that have shown interest in the polls include the Action Alliance, AA, and the Social Democratic Party, SDP.
