The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has predicted hazy weather conditions over the central states on Friday, with partly cloudy condition over Lokoja and Makurdi in the afternoon and evening hours, according to the News Agency of Nigeria, NAN.

NiMet’s Weather Outlook by its Central Forecast Office in Abuja on Thursday also predicted day and night temperatures in the range of 24 to 31 and 21 to 26 degrees Celsius respectively.

The agency predicted that the southern states would experience partly cloudy morning with day and night temperatures in the range of 30 to 32 and 22 to 24 degrees Celsius respectively.

It also predicted prospects of localised thunderstorms over Akure, Oshogbo , Ado, Enugu, Awka, Abakaliki, Owerri, Ijebu-Ode, Lagos, Calabar, Eket, Port-Harcourt, Yenegoa , Uyo and its environs in the afternoon and evening period.

According to NiMet, northern states will experience hazy condition throughout the forecast period with day and night temperatures in the ranges of 32 to 38 and 16 to 21 degrees Celsius respectively.

“ The Northern states down to the central cities are expected to be in hazy condition, partly cloudy and localised thunderstorm conditions are not unlikely over the southern cities in the next 24hours,’’ it added.
