Gunmen kidnap businessman in Yenagoa

Unidentified Gunmen have reportedly kidnapped a businessman in the Akenfa suburb of Yenagoa, Bayelsa  state capital on Sunday.
The name of the victim was given simply as  Chief Okorobia of  Unduwari  town  in the Southern Ijaw local government  area of the state.
Reports indicated that the gunmen stormed residence of the victim, shooting sporadically before taking him  away to an unknown destination.
It was learnt that some Police detectives from the Akenfa police station visited the residence of the victim and had briefs  from relatives of the abducted chief with a view o f trailing  the perpetrators.
A prominent Environmental rights activist and kinsman to the victim based in Yenagoa, Comrade  Alagoa Morris, who confirmed the kidnap in is Facebook post also described the act as barbaric and called on  security agencies to ensure the businessman is released safely by the abductors  .

Bayelsa Police Public Relations Officer,  PPRO , Asinim Butwat  DSP had not  reacted to the incident at the time of filing this report.
