Prof. Benjamin Mbah, the Provost, Federal College of Education, Eha-Amufu, Enugu State, on Saturday at Nsukka warned the college’s newly admitted students to shun examination malpractice and others vices.

The provost, who gave the warning at the 23rd matriculation of the college, advised the fresh students to eschew cultism, violence and indecent dressing or risk expulsion.

He admonished the students to imbibe dialogue, peaceful co-existence, discipline and hard work to excel in their academics.

“Students must live within the tenets and rules of the college by ensuring they do not involve in any act of lawlessness and indiscipline.

“We abhor examination malpractice, sorting and any form of violence but we encourage dialogue, peaceful co-existence, good sanitary measures and hard work.

“I want you to count yourselves lucky to be admitted here because not all that applied for admission were admitted into the college,’’ Mbah said.

He congratulated the fresh students and reminded them of academic challenges that might await them.

“You are the one to determine your academic failure or success on graduation, if you want to make good result and graduate in flying colours, you must start now to study hard.

“Start burning your midnight lamp,’’ he said.

The provost assured the students that staff and management of the college would provide the enabling environment and welfare to ensure that hardworking student excel in their chosen course of study.

Some of the students told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that they would work hard in order to graduate with good results.

They promised not do anything that would dent the image of the college.
