President Muhammadu Buhari is trying very hard to make the wedding of Zahra, his daughter which started on Thursday as simple as possible, his spokesperson, Mallam Shehu Garba said in a face book post.

Zahra, unarguably the most popular of the President’s children is getting married to Ahmed Indimi, the son of popular Nigeria oil magnate.

The pre- wedding pictures of the couple have been making the rounds of social media.

Garba also revealed that President Buhari will fund the wedding with assistance of his aides.

‘The Presidential aide said, “Zahra Muhammadu Buhari’s wedding to Ahmed Mohammed Indimi starting today is a celebrity event to savor any day. Much as the family wants to make their daughter happy they, however, will not make it a royal wedding.

“The President’s family is trying hard to keep it as simple as possible. Wedding Lalle, Fatiha, lunch event for the men and dinner for the women who must have come from far and near and the bride heads to her husband!

“ In a rare twist, the President asked to be given the bill for the food at the banquet. Government, he said, has no business paying for that.

“This should be treated as private. His family and personal aides put the money together to foot the bill. No government money in invitation cards, souvenirs or Aso-Ebi. That’s essential Buhari for you!!.”

First Lady,  Aisha Buhari had on Thursday shared the first official pre-wedding photo of her daughter Zahra  urging Nigerians to join her in prayers for the wedding.

Aisha shared Zahra and her betrothed Ahmed Indimi on her Instagram page.

She wrote: “Please join me in prayers as my second daughter Zahra Buhari gets married to Ahmed Indimi on Friday December 16,2016.”
