The crisis rocking the Nigerian aviation sector continues on Wednesday with many passengers stranded at Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport, Abuja as all the scheduled flights out of the airport were either cancelled or rescheduled.

There has been no flight into or out of the Airport as at 12: 30 pm on Wednesday, the time of writing this story. Some of the frustrated passengers were seen making arrangement to embark on the journey by road.

Sources at the Airport attributed the massive flight cancellation to scarcity of aviation fuel.

Arik Airline, Nigeria’s biggest carrier which suspended operations yesterday afternoon, bout announced resumption of flights later Tuesday has also not operated any flight into or out of the airport as at the time of writing this story.

Nigerian airlines have been battling with acute scarcity of aviation fuel, a situation which is now forcing foreign airlines operating into the country to refuel at neighboring countries.
