Olympic Milk will be throwing her weight around mothers across Nigeria with the “Mothers’ Day TV Show” which will be aired live on the Network Service of the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA).
Scheduled to hold through the Lagos Network Centre on early evening of Sunday 27 March, the programme is designed to showcase, celebrate and appreciate mothers across the world.
Already confirmed as part of the special guests at the event are Mrs. Funmi Tejuoso, member, Lagos State House of Assembly; Mrs. Omotayo Aramide-Oduntan, Deputy Chief Whip, Lagos State House of Assembly; Adebimpe Akinsola, Special Adviser, Arts and Culture, Lagos State; Chief (Mrs.) Yetunde Arobieke, two-time Local Government Chairman for Agboyi-Ketu Local Government; Mrs. Derin Disu, Former Lagos Island East Chairman; Mrs. Abiola Laseinde, Legal Adviser to Cadbury Nig. Plc and Chairman, Lagos State Chapter of Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators of Nigeria; and Gloria Young, Nollywood Actor.
Speaking on the programme, Precious Eze, Managing Director, Media Industries Concept, said ‘Mothers’ Day’ as celebrated all over the world is a special day set aside to recognize and appreciate mothers for their invaluable contributions to the upkeep of the family and the society as a whole.
He stated that it is a day for honouring mothers, celebrated in many places around the world and a time when we acknowledge our mothers’ contributions to our lives and pay tribute to them, hence the birth of the programme which commenced in 2010 with its first outing aired on NTA Chanel 10, Lagos.
“This year, we decided to make it bigger by using a bigger platform to push forward issues that concern mothers and we are excited that Olympic Milk is part of this as the sponsor of this year’s edition with the theme “Mothers, Veritable Tools For National Development” which is a call to duty for all and sundry to embrace mothers in particular as well as women in general as the backbone of any society,” Eze explained.
The Mother’s Day TV Show is a one-hour (segmented)talk-show with audience that will dissect issues, demystify them and seek solutions to the challenges facing mothers generally around the world.
They will also subtly look at the scourge of Cancer with a mother-survivor in house to testify to how she made it.
The programme will be anchored by broadcaster per-excellence, Siju Alabi.
