Low-cost airline Germanwings said it will hold a news conference later Tuesday on the crash of one of its Airbus A320 jets in the French Alps.

The press conference will be held at 1400 GMT at Cologne-Bonn airport in western Germany, a spokeswoman told AFP.

Germanwings had earler issued a statement saying it had not yet had “any own confirmed information” over the crash of a plane en route to Duesseldorf from Barcelona, with French officials saying all 148 people on board have perished.

About 48 of the passengers are said to be Spanish. The nationalities of the others not yet known.

Meanwhile shares in Lufthansa and European planemaker Airbus tumbled Tuesday after news of the crash.

France’s transport minister said there were “no survivors” from the crash.

In late morning deals, Lufthansa’s share price dived 4.61 percent to 13.15 euros in Frankfurt, the worst performer on the German stock market.

Airbus shares sank 2.08 percent to 58.75 euros, also making it the heaviest faller in Paris. Markets were steady overall.
