What will you contribute to the Falcons to win the Nations Cup back?
If I am lucky to go to Namibia with the Super Falcons, I will put in my best to make sure we bring back the trophy we lost to Equatorial Guinea in 2012.
When you started, how did your parents encourage you?
I went through lot of challenges when I was very young, especially when I was in school; my mother never wanted me to go into sports. But later on my father spoke with her and she let me go into it. I was also determined. They saw the zeal in me; that I actually wanted this and I did not let them down.
When you won the Golden Boot and the Most Valuable Player, what did it mean to you? Did you think you had what it takes to win that award in the first place?
Winning the award was just like a surprise to me. I felt like I worked hard in the competition [but] I never thought of it before coming to the competition itself. I just gave myself an assignment of playing well and making sure my country comes victorious. But at the end of the competition I was awarded the Golden Ball, which I never thought of. Even the Golden Boot I won as the highest goal scorer of the tournament, I never planned for it. All I said was I wanted to come out of the competition victorious.
After the World Cup, have there been offers from any club?
Well, that is professional and it is not something I would like to discuss.
What is your hobby?
I like singing and listening to music as well. I also like dancing.
