Premier League club Liverpool have completed the £10m signing of Belgian international striker Divock Origi from French club LOSC Lille in a five-year deal.

Origi is Liverpool’s sixth signing following Emre Can, Rickie Lambert, Adam Lallana, Lazar Markovic and Dejan Lovren, with Origi to be immediately loaned back to Lille for the 2014-15 season.

After signing, Origi stated that ”For me, Liverpool is one of the greatest clubs in the world and I’m very excited to be part of this great history.”

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers stated that ”I have seen enough of him over the course of the last couple of seasons to think that he can genuinely be world class.”

19-year old Origi was part of Belgium’s team that made it to the quarterfinal stage of the 2014 World Cup, scoring one goal in the group stage match against Russia.
