IGP Idris

The Inspector General of police (IGP) Ibrahim Idris has given an order for the Kogi State Commissioner of Police, CP Wilson Inalegwu to bring the administrator of Ijumu local government area of Kogi State, Hon. Taofiq to Abuja.

It was gathered that the directive also asked the Kogi CP to forward his case file and weapons allegedly recovered from his house at Odokoro.

A source within the police reveal that the directive came as a result of reports in the media credited to the administrator that he was not arrested by the Police in connection with the assassination attempt on Senator Dino Melaye.

The source further disclosed that the administrator was arrested last week for interrogation but the quick intervention of Governor Yahaya Bello saw to his being set free same day from police custody.

The team from the force headquarters has been investigating the matter and had been quizzing the ALGON boss in Lokoja

The State CP, Wilson Inalegu when contacted said he was no longer in charge of the investigation as a team from the force headquarters is now investigating the matter.

He said the ALGON boss was actually with the team investigating the alleged assassination but he does not know what happened next.
