Mrs Winifred Ekanem Oyo-Ita, the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation has raised alarm about fake social media accounts opened  different platforms, particularly, Facebook and yahoo messenger in her name which are being used fraudulent pour poses.

The HOS who said this in a statement by Haruna Imrana, the director of communications in her office said the operators of the fake social media accounts were using them to communicate with innocent members of the public on false claims and promises with the intention of fraud.

Mrs Oyo-Ita therefore warned the public to beware of such fraudsters, asserting that she was not the owner of the social media accounts.

“The Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation wishes to state categorically that Mrs Winifred Ekanem Oyo-Ita personally or does not own any of the said Social media accounts and does not communicate to the public through such channels for any purpose.

“The Public is therefore warned to disregard any offer or promise on any of the so called personal social media accounts of Mrs Winifred E. Oyo-Ita.

“Any person who does so does it at his or her own risk. The public is advised to contact the relevant Government institutions for any official requirement or need they may have and not respond to fake personal social media account promises by unknown fraudulent people.”
