‎SIINKO: A Record Label Charting its Own Path in the Nigeria Music Scene

‎This is SIINKO’S role as a Nigerian record label and music distributor that works with emerging talents to develop their careers. Founded on 4 March, 2021, by Chinedu Ezionu popularly known as Gax, SIINKO has positioned itself as a platform that supports young and emerging artists in developing their careers.

‎Earlier, Chinedu Ezionu, the founder of the company established a YouTube Mashup channel for Afrobeats and Hip-Hop music which laid the foundation for SIINKO. The record label provides financial support, industry access, legal support and professional structure to artists, ensuring they have the necessary resources. SIINKO provides emerging artists the platform to engage their own community of fans and release music that resonates with their fanbase.

‎Since its inception, SIINKO has signed more than five artists to its platform. The record label houses talented artists such as RunUp, Pallaso, YoungDzee, Tibey, Jaysing and Ziza Bafana. These artists release music across different markets. Their music spans through diverse genres. SIINKO has a roster of artists from West Africa to East Africa. This reflects the label’s aims of extending beyond its base and establishing a presence in multiple African countries. This has created opportunities for artists of diverse backgrounds across the continent.

‎Also, SIINKO over the years has contributed to the African music scene with its releases. The record label has a catalogue of over 140 masters recordings. This is supported by its roster of artists. In addition, the label reports over 500 million streams from the projects of its artists.

‎According to the label’s report, this reflects its output and reach. While having many artists does not always guarantee consistency output or quality music, record labels create an enabling environment for artists to experiment freely and deliver high calibre marketable songs. ‎SIINKO artists have recorded millions of streams and have also received awards. RunUp, an artist signed to the label, won the Isanga Na Muzika award (IMA) for his track “Tsunami,” which amassed over 12 million YouTube views. This highlights the visibility of the label’s artist.
‎ The song also won Song of the Year at the 2025 DVA Award in Rwanda, further raising RunUp’s profile.
