Today, October 11, 2025, marks 27 years, since Sierra Leone, under the presidency of the late Ahmad Tejan Kabbah, reached rebels for a negotiated peace deal.
The move was partly facilitated by a civilian philanthropic gesture, through selfless services at no cost.
There are pictorial and official communication evidence to support these laudable gestures toward restoring peace and stability in the West African region.
It is not the person of Chief Tony Izubundu Chinyere that matters here, but the public-spirited push to restore stability in the region that we all cherish today.
With these laudable activities, his businesses were crumbled by successive governments, who elbowed him aside, through political machinations.
