The nominees are Dr Jerry Uwangue, Dr Kenneth Okoruwa Ihensekhien, Usenbo Paul Ehigie and Akhigbe Osi John Sunday.

A statement by the Secretary to the State Government, Musa Ikhilor, stated that the names of the nominees would be forwarded to the State House of Assembly for consideration and confirmation.

Notable among the nominees is Dr Kenneth Okoruwa Ihensekhien, who served as Minority Leader in the State House of Assembly between 1999 and 2003.

He also served at various times as Commissioner of Youth & Sports; Commissioner for Energy & Water Resources; Commissioner for Agriculture & Natural Resources, and Special Adviser on Project Monitoring.

Ihensekhien was also a former Deputy Chief of Staff to the State Governor and Principal Private Secretary to a former National Chairman of the APC between 2018 and 2020.

The latest nomination brings the total number of Commissioners to 26, the highest number of Commissioners by any Governor in the recent past.
