As a direct descendant of Oduduwa through Orangun Ajagunla Ifagbamila , Oranmiyan was the last, but was exceedingly blessed, I am therefore part of a rich legacy that has shaped Yoruba culture and society.
To create a brighter future for Yorubaland, we must consider the following developmental goals:
– Economic Growth: Foster innovation, entrepreneurship, and sustainable development to drive economic progress and improve living standards.
– Social Progress: Promote education, healthcare, equality, and social justice to ensure a more equitable society.
– Environmental Sustainability: Protect natural resources, mitigate climate change, and ensure eco-friendly practices to preserve the environment for future generations.
– Cultural Preservation: Safeguard heritage sites, traditions, and cultural identity to maintain Yorubaland’s unique cultural heritage.
Collective Action for a Better Tomorrow:
– Building on Past Successes: Leverage historical achievements to drive progress and innovation.
– Addressing Past Challenges: Overcome historical obstacles to create a better future. Yes historical obstacles, that are not in tandem with the present. Many of our children are suffering despite the enormous talents that we have all over Yorubaland.
– Fostering Innovation: Encourage creativity, research, and development to stay ahead.
SHAPING THE FUTURE AS A 2025 TRADITIONAL RULER
– Staying Informed: Engage with history, current events, and future trends to make informed decisions.
– Participating in Community Development: Volunteer, advocate, or lead initiatives that benefit the community.
– Inspiring Others: Share knowledge, experiences, and vision with others to inspire positive change.
In the next 50 years, Yorubaland can become a hub for:
– Cultural Renaissance: Revitalizing and preserving Yoruba culture, traditions, and heritage.
– Economic Prosperity: Driving economic growth through innovation, entrepreneurship, and sustainable development.
– Social Justice: Promoting equality and justice.
– Environmental Sustainability: Protecting the environment and natural resources for future generations.
By embracing history and working together, Yorubaland can forge a brighter, more sustainable future for generations to come.
This message would have been fitting during our congratulatory visit to Alaafin Owoade in April 2025, led by my brother, Alayeluwa Oba Abdulwahab Kayode Oyedotun Bibire 1, the Orangun of Ila. Unfortunately, the opportunity to discuss development was missed.
