Jigawa State Governor, Malam Umar Namadi, has pronounced the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) dead in Jigawa State.

Namadi also boasted that the All Progressive Congress (APC) is ready to reclaim the three National Assembly seats occupied by the PDP in 2027.

Namadi insisted that the 2027 general elections will record 100 per cent win for the APC in Jigawa state.

According to him, the days of PDP are numbered in Jigawa state, as the APC is well-positioned to win all elections from the state Assembly, National Assembly, governorship and presidential elections.

Namadi spoke at the venue of the state government’s Citizen Engagement (Gwamnati Da Jama’a) programme in Dutse Local Government Area.

The weekly programme was attended by high-ranking officials, traditional rulers, political party leaders, community elders, civil society representatives, and residents from across the state.

Our Correspondent reports that the programme is a platform for state officials and elected representatives to highlight completed and ongoing developmental projects in each Local Government Area visited.

Governor Namadi emphasised the success of his people-driven policies and underscored the growing strength of the APC in the state, particularly within the Jigawa Central Senatorial Zone and the Dutse-Kiyawa and Birnin Kudu-Buji Federal Constituencies, currently held by the PDP.

He said, “Just as Buji and Birnin Kudu confirmed to us, the senator representing this zone under the PDP should start counting his days in the red chamber. Likewise, the House of Representatives members representing Dutse and Kiyawa and Birnin Kudu and Buji should also start counting their days in the green chamber.

“As demonstrated in Buji and Birnin Kudu, today’s overwhelming turnout and support in Dutse confirm that APC is now deeply rooted in this emirate.”

He expressed gratitude to the people of Dutse for their steadfast loyalty, cooperation, and warm reception.

He reaffirmed his administration’s inclusive developmental and citizen-focused governance.

“We believe we must thank God because this Government and People’s initiative has been well received. What we have to say to Dutse Local Government: we are deeply, sincerely grateful for the warm reception, the enthusiastic turnout, and the praise for government initiatives,” Namadi added.

While reaffirming the Federal Government’s commitment to sustain development across Jigawa state, Governor Namadi conveyed assurances from President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on several major infrastructure projects in the area.

He named the projects to include: the completion of the Greater Dutse water project; progress on the Maradi-Dutse railway line; and the re-award and continuation of the Kano-Maiduguri highway project.

“The President has asked me to assure you that these projects will be delivered without delay and that national and community development efforts will continue in full force across Jigawa State,” he said.

As part of the engagement, community elders presented the governor with a compendium outlining the needs and aspirations of Dutse residents, and Governor Namadi pledged to act on all items aligned with the current state budget and to include others in future budget cycles.

Prior to the main event at the Dutse Sports Complex, Governor Namadi inaugurated the construction project for the Kurungu–Katangar Lafiya road and also supervised the distribution of furniture to 30 recently married orphan girls spearheaded by the Local Government Chairman.

Governor Namadi acknowledged and appreciated the gifts presented to him by various community groups, recognising them as symbols of trust and goodwill.
