The Edo State House of Assembly has confirmed six Commissioner-nominees to serve in the State Executive Council.
The six Commissioner-nominees confirmed by the House are Paul Nosayaba Ohonbamu, Washington Osa Osifo, Lucky Eseigbe, Andrew Ijegbai, Marie Olabisi Idaomi and Paddy Iyamu.
The House also confirmed seven members of the State Independent Electoral Commission (EDSIEC), nominated by Governor Monday Okpebholo on January 7, 2025, in a letter signed by Umar Musa Ikhilor, Secretary to the State Government.
The confirmed members are Jonathan Aifuobhokhan as Chairman; Anthony Aigbokhomhan, Suleiman Ikhuoria, Umoru Frank, Imafidon Osarodion, Ojo Asein and Ighomo Egharevba as members.
Meanwhile, the House also passed the Secret Cult Prohibition Law and a Bill for a law to provide for the extension of retirement age of Magistrates and Presidents of Area Customary Court in Edo State.
