Kano: CP Dogo visits officers involved in an auto crash at the hospital

Kano state Commissioner of Police, Mr Salman Dogo Garba, on Thursday, visited the hospital and sympathized with the surviving officers in the auto crash that claimed the lives of five officers who were returning from  Edo state after election duty.

The fatal car accident occurred at Karfi village, along Kano—Zaria road when a reversing trailer had a head-on collision with the vehicle conveying officers of Kano state Police Command from Edo state to Kano.

Five officers died instantly, while about 11 people who sustained various degrees of injury were rushed to hospital for treatment.

CP Dogo also appreciated condolence messages and support from individuals and stakeholders.

Speaking at  Bichi General Hospital, Kano State, CP Dogo extended heartfelt condolences to the affected officers and their loved ones, praying for the departed souls and wishing the injured a speedy recovery.

He assured them of the Command’s commitment to their well-being and welfare.

The Commissioner of Police emphasized that  “the safety and well-being of the officers are paramount. An investigation is underway to determine the accident’s cause, and measures will be taken to prevent similar incidents.

“The Command appreciates the overwhelming support from individuals, stakeholders, and organizations. Their kind words, prayers and gestures have brought comfort to the affected families and the entire police community.”
