The family of Daniel Ogoh, a postgraduate student in a foreign university who was believed to have visited Nigeria recently, has raised alarm over his whereabouts.
According to a source in the family, the 27-year-old, 6.1 ft tall, was said to have arrived at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, on the 5th of May. The source added that his name was on the manifest of those who arrived and were cleared by the relevant agencies, as there were no criminal records against him.
To the dismay of the family, however, the visit turned awry when the returnee did not arrive home and has not been seen by any known family member, friend, or associate since that time. Efforts to track him through his phone numbers have also been abortive.
Worried by the grim possibilities, the family began a frantic search for him and reported the matter to law enforcement agencies. Thus far, the search and investigations have not shed light on the mystery.
“This is strange and unfortunate. I don’t understand how somebody will arrive from Europe and disappear into the thin air in his country. This has thrown the parents and other family members into emotional trauma. This is a very dark and agonising moment for us.” The source said in a tearful tone.
