Multiple sources on Saturday morning confirmed the release of a local government caretaker committee, CTC, chairman in Kogi State, Barrister Zacchaeus Dare Michael, from the kidnapper’s den. News of his freedom was shared on social media platforms.

Earlier, the Kogi state police public relations officer SP William Aya told journalists that he was kidnapped last night along Kabba/Okene road in Kabba.

“Yes, I got the information. The Commissioner of police Bethrand Onuoha has already deployed officers for a search and rescue mission, and we are on top of the situation, ” he said.

Sources said that Dare was abducted alongside some of his aides on Kabba-Okene Road in the State.

The source said: “Reports indicate that CTC Kabba/Bunu Chairman Barr Zacchaeus Dare Michael and some of his aides have been allegedly kidnapped by unidentified gunmen on the Kabba-Okene expressway.

“Authorities are seeking any credible information that may aid in their safe rescue. I urge everyone to pray for their immediate and safe release, asking for divine intervention and protection during this critical time.”

It was gathered that while Michael miraculously escaped from the gunmen, his aides were still in captivity at the time of this report.
