Edo deputy governor, Philip Shaibu, quits APC

Edo state Deputy Governor, Philip Shaibu, has resigned from the All Progressives Congress (APC).

His resignation came few hours after the star Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, announced his resignation from the party.

In his resignation letter dated 15 June, 2020, and addressed to the Ward 11 chairman, Etsako West local government area, Shaibu said his resignation takes immediate effect.

“I write pursuant to Article 9.5 (i) of the Constitution of the All Progressives Congress (APC), to formally resign my membership of the All Progressives Congress and to inform you of my formal withdrawal from all or any of its proceedings and processes whatsoever.

“Please note that this resignation takes immediate effect,” he added.

Copies of the resignation letter were also sent to the national chairman of the APC, Adams Oshiomhole, state, zonal and Etsako west chairmen of the party.
