Governor Nyesom Wike recorded massive win against his main challenger, Biokpomabo Awara of the African Action Congress in his Obio-Akpor Local Government Area as indicated in the results of the March 9 governorship election collated on Wednesday.

Governor Wike is from Rumuepricom community in Obio-Akpor local government area and was a two-time Executive Chairman of the Council. Results collated from the 17 wards of the Local Government where the election took place indicated that the AAC candidate scored 7,495 votes while Wike polled  281, 164 votes.

The total number of valid votes cast in the local government was 292,324 while the rejected votes was 294,772
