Ogun 2019: Labour Party faction adopts ADC guber candidate

A faction of Ogun chapter of Labour Party has promised to support the election of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) governorship candidate, Prince Gboyega Nasir Isiaka as the governor of the state in the 2019 general election.

Comrade Biodun Owolabi factional led exco made this known at the formal presentation of Isiaka as the party’s governorship candidate held at the Party Secretariat in Abeokuta.

The factional State Secretary, Sunday Oginni described the party’s adoption of Isiaka as a “serious marriage of conveniences”

He equally expressed confidence that the alliance with the candidate will see Isiaka succeed the incumbent in 2019, saying the two-time gubernatorial candidate is the most capable and prepared candidate in the 2019 governorship race.

Decrying the “regressive leadership of Gov Ibikunle Amosun administration, Oginni affirmed that the ADC candidate represents the State’s best hopes for good governance and equitable distribution of developmental projects.

He explained that the Party leadership arrived at the decision after due deliberations, and consultations which clearly show that siaka is best placed to succeed Amosun as the State’s next governor in 2019.

“Politics is about coalition, alliances and about proven leadership. We have to be realistic, without any doubt, the best Candidate in the Ogun governorship race is GNI. It is a contest between Isiaka and others.” he said.

In re-affirmation Oginni emphatically notee that GNI is the best and next governor of the state.

“Note that Labour Party in Ogun has a governorship candidate, and that person is Prince Gboyega Nasir Isiaka. He is the next governor of Ogun in 2019

“He is capable and ready to deliver Ogun from government of Amosun. After dialogues and deliberations, we have agreed to coalesce Labour party into ADC. We are going to canvass, campaign and convince as many people as possible to ensure total victory for GNI.

“This product is the next Governor of this State. He is a product for all of you. You have all invested in him. Your product is going to the market again. We are certain that victory is ours this time. I am prepared and ready to welcome all of you with an open hand.

In his remarks, Gboyega Isiaka appreciated the endorsement of the party leaders while restating his commitment at winning the governorship contest holding in March 2nd this year.

“Elections are won in polling units. All of us should contribute our quota to this movement. We must all be involved.” he said.
