The Indomitable Lionessess of Cameroon have claimed Africa’s third slot to the Women’s World Cup following a 4-2 victory over Lady Eagles of Mali in the third place match of the ongoing African Women Cup of Nations (AWCON).
The Lionessess will join South Africa and Nigeria at next year’s world event in France.

Mali respond with Fatoumata Diarra’s strike in the 44th minute and an own goal from Aurelle Awona in the 56th minute put the Lady Eagles back into the game.

Nigeria will take on South Africa on Saturday in the finals of the tournament in Ghana.
