The National Association of Nigeria students, NANS has threatened to thwart President Mohammadu Buhari’s bid for secon tenure at the forthcoming general elections.

The association also vowed not to let federal government rest until it listens to Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU.

Comrade Adeyemi Azeez said this during a protest by students from various universities across the nation in Abeokuta, Ogun State on Monday.

Armed with different placards, the students who proceeded from the Nigeria Labour Congress secretariat to Ibara pedestrian bridge and stopped at Nigerian Union of Journalists threatened that “We are going to show you road through our vote to Daura, if after today’s nation wide rally, you still do not respect the voice of the over 50,000 nigerian students”

“We have tried to educate Mr president on the values and important of education through consultation and consolidations.

“Before he makes us nomadic and uncivilised farmer, we shall resist him and that is what we are doing now.

He maintained that a total sum of 9.12 trillion was signed into law by president Muhammad Bulgari suddenly only 109 billion was allocated to Universal Basic Education, commission was allocated, where by 9.2billion naira.

Comrade Azeez submitted that the association will not allow president Muhammad Buhari to mortgage the students’  future.

“We will not fold our arms and watch him mortgage the future of the present and unborn generation”

“There is no reason to negotiate. ASUU and COEASU demands are our rights, your dogs are feeding large, you are travelling with our parents money and we say no”

“We won’t continue to serve a government that does not understand the value of education, our universities , polytechnics, college of education laboratories are not more updated, no research apparatus, our lecture rooms are decapitated.”
