The Rangers International Football Club of Enugu has renewed the contract of its Technical Adviser, Olugbenga Ogunbote by one tear.

General Manager of the club, Davison Owumi made the disclosure to newsmen in Enugu on Tuesday while reacting to reports of Ogunbote’s termination of contract.

“To the best of my knowledge, I have not heard of the coach contract termination; in fact his Excellency,Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi has graciously after consultation gave the nod for renewal of the coach contract.

“The Technical Adviser’s contract has been renewed to one more year; the summary is that the contract has been rolled over for another one year.

“Anything outside this information from the public is not from us,’’ he said.

Owumi said that the terms of contract still remained what it used to be adding that it had not changed.

He said that the club would do its best to clinch more trophies in future national and international tournaments.

“We are not putting anybody to task but we know that the purpose of playing football is to win trophy.

The GM said that the team would beef up in areas where the need arose, knowing full well that the club would be competing in continental league.

“While beefing up, we are not going to destroy the fabric which was the bedrock of our success in this year,’’ the GM said.

He said that the club just finished the Aiteo/ Federation cup six days ago and that there had been consultations on how to move forward.

“All these were geared towards ensuring successful outing and putting up proper budget for the execution of the continental and local matches next season,’’ Owumi said.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Rangers won the 2018 Aiteo/Federation cup Oct. 24 after 35 years in waiting.
