NiMet predicts cloudy weather, thunderstorm on Sunday

The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has predicted partly cloudy weather conditions with chances of thunderstorms and rains showers over most parts of the country on Sunday.

NiMet’s Weather Outlook by its Central Forecast Office (CFO) on Saturday, predicted cloudy conditions over the central states with chances of thunderstorms over Mambilla Plateau, Ibi, Bida and Ilorin in the morning hours.

It added that scattered thunderstorms were likely over this region in the afternoon and evening period with day and night temperatures of 31 to 34 and 17 to 25 degrees celsius.

The agency predicted that Northern States would experience partly cloudy to cloudy conditions in the morning with thunderstorms over Yelwa.

It also predicted scattered thunderstorms activities over the region in the afternoon and evening hours with day and night temperatures of 31 to 38 and 21 to 25 degrees celsius.

According to NiMet, Southern States will experience cloudy conditions over the inland and the coastal belt of the south west with moderate rains over the eastern in the morning.

It added that “later in the day, thunderstorms and rain showers are expected to prevail over the entire region with day and night temperatures of 29 to 32 and 21 to 23 degrees celsius.

“There are prospects of thunderstorms and rains over most parts of the country in the next 24 hours.”
