Senator Iyiola Omisore, the candidate of Social Democratic Party, SDP in the Osun gubernatorial election lost Ife North Local Government Area, one of the areas believed to be his stronghold to the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola, result announced by INEC has shown.
The result indicated that Oyetola polled 6527 votes in the local government to defeat the candidate of Omisore, who polled 5158 votes.
The PDP candidate, Senator Ademola Adeleke, polled 5486 votes to consign Omisore to the third place in the election.
Omisore is from Ife Central Local Government, but the Ife axis of the state was expected to be his stronghold in the election.
