Saraki and Wike at Port Harcourt over the weekened

Speculations over imminent defection of Senate President Bukola Saraki from the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC to his former party, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP gain further traction over the weeked with the former governor of Kwara State’s visit to Port Harcourt, Rivers State where he laid the foundation for a fertilizer plant as well as a road project built by Governor Nyesom Wike.

Though the Senate President tactically avoided speaking about his alleged plans to move to another party, his hosts, which included Governor Ayo Fayose of Ekiti State did not exercise such discretions.

Governor Wike, who congratulated the Senate President on his victory at the Supreme Court promised that Rivers people will always stand by him. He also condemned alleged frame-up of Saraki for armed robbery, which, according to him, will have negative consequences for the country while reminding the Senate President that his political party, the APC, has not kept her promises to Nigerians

. Governor Fayose was even very direct as he advised Saraki not to waste in dumping the All Progressives Congress (APC) and return back to the PDP.

Fayose who told the Senate President that the best time to leave the APC is now, reminded Saraki that the PDP has been his backbone of support and that his current party is now a spent vehicle that can no longer take him to the expected destination. Fayose and Wike are reportedly in support of Saraki emergence as the presidential candidate of PDP for the 2019 election, though the Senate President is still in APC.
