Why 10,000 PDP, APC members defected to ADC

The defectors

Over 10,000 members of the All Progressives Congress and People’s Democratic Party in Ogun State have defected to the African Democratic Congress (ADC ).

Some of the defectors were said to be loyalists of Senator Olamilekan Adeola (a.k.a Yayi).

This was made known in Iweroyin,Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital at a press conference and the swearing of the new members organized by the ADC.

According to one of the leaders of the Yayi Movement , Alhaji Nurudeen Olaleye, 90 per-cent of the gathering who came from six local government in Ogun central of the State were members of the Yayi’s movement who picked interset in ADC and in its governorship aspirant, Prince Gboyega Nasir Isiaka (GNI).

“We have come to stay in ADC and support GNI,nothing can take us back,” he vouched.

Olaleye also expressed his optimism that GNI would emerge winner of the coming 2019 Governorship election in the state.

It would be recalled that Isiaka who contested twice in the State under the platform of the People’s Party of Nigeria in 2011,Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in 2015 recently defected his governorship interest to ADC to run for the 2019 gurnatorial race.

In his own speech, the party’s Chairman Contract and Mobilisation Committee said that ADC was a moving train that can never be stop he therefore,urged other members of PDP and APC to also join the party.

He said, “ADC is a moving train, we are committed and determined to create a play safe platform for everyone and every elective post in the state is available for everyone who is willing”.

Prince Isiaka, in his address also expressed optimism to become the next elected governor of the State in the 2019 Governorship election.

According to GNI, ADC is a better platform for him to contest and lead with transparency to meet the needs of the people.

“The potential of Ogun State is greater than what we see today, it is far beyond road infrastructure. Edication, employment, and other variables need to be considered. This are what we will address in 2019 “, he stressed.

GNI also stated emphatically that he is ready for any contest come 2019 election.
