The National Secretary, All Progressives Congress (APC), Alhaji MaiMala Buni, has urged Nigerians to pray for the country and support the government of President Muhammadu Buhari to move the nation forward.

Buni, who made the call on Saturday in Damaturu while speaking to News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), said the task of making Nigeria great is a collective responsibility that needed the support of every Nigerian.

“This is our country; there are times to play politics and there are times for national duty and service, which must not be politicized,” he advised.

The party scribe noted that the task of re-positioning the country to ensure sustainable development, was enormous.

“The situation in this country is like starting afresh to get out of the infrastructural and economic decay, which the Buhari administration has exhibited unparalleled commitment to,” he said.

Buni commended President Buhari’s efforts at healing the the country’s ‘political wound’ by conferring national honors on the acclaimed winner of the 1993 presidential election, Chief MKO Abiola, and others.

“The honor has reassured Nigerians of national unity and cohesion, a prosperous future and a sound democracy.

“President Buhari has summoned unprecedented courage by offering national apology and recognizing victims of injustice, which successive administrations failed to do,” he said.

He commended security agencies for improving security in the North-East.

“The security is improving every day; as you can see, Sallah was celebrated peacefully across the region without any ugly incident,” he noted.

The secretary assured that the measures taken would also address the security challenges in the North Central, sub-region, particularly Zamfara.
