NPFL: Rivers Utd hold Pillars in Kano

Rivers United FC of Port Harcourt on Sunday held Kano Pillars to a 1-1 draw in a week 23 game of the Nigeria Profession Football League match in Kano.

The match, which was played at the Sani Abacha Stadium, was watched by a large number of spectators.

The visitors took the lead in the 12th minute through Osita Chikere‎ before Junior Lokosa equalised for the home side in the 47th minute to take his season tally to 19 goals.

The second half began with a spirited performance by the hosts as they created numerous chances but could not convert them due to Rivers United strong defence.

Both tension soaked coaches refused to talk to newsman after the encounter.
