Buhari vetoes National Assembly amendment of Electoral Act

President Muhammadu Buhari has written the National Assembly to reject amendment to the Electoral Act which stipulated re-ordering of the sequence of elections.
Senate President, Bukola Saraki  read the letter of President Muhammadu Buhari rejecting the amendment made to the electoral act  etter dated March 3, 2018  after a closed session that lasted for about 30 minutes.

The president in the letter said he rejected the amendment to the electoral act based on three constitutional issues.

He said he rejected the bill based on section 58(4) of the 1999 constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
