The Chief of Defence Staff, Gen Abayomi Olonisakin was on a budget defence visit to the National Assembly. After the questions and answers about figures, programmes and projects, the Chairman of the Committee asked:
“In the South East, the python has danced, the crocodile has danced. Why is it that in all the areas being ravaged by killer herdsmen, not even a lizard has danced?”
Keeping a straight face, Olonisakin, surrounded by a bevy of Generals said,
“we are taking steps to contain the situation in such places.”
