Kelechi Eke, President of Esteem Sports, on Friday called for immediate inclusion of tall defenders in Nigerian football teams.

Eke told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that the likes of legendary Uche Okechukwu and Chidi Nwanu were needed in the defence.

He said that the home based Eagles would go far in Morocco but required tall players as defender.

The football enthusiast, who congratulated the Salisu Yusuf tutored boys on their 1-0 Victory over Libya, said Nigerian league was superior.

“Libyan league cannot be compared to Nigerian league and they know it.

” Our boys have truly proved that Nigeria is indeed giant of Africa because Libya was out to re-write history,” Eke said.

Nigeria’s home-baded Eagles on Friday defeated the Group C toppers, Libya with a lone goal to top the Group.

Sunday Faleye’s 79th minute goal kept hope alive for Nigeria who had in their opening match played goalless with Rwanda.

NAN reports that Nigeria will meet Equatorial Guinea on Jan. 23 for their last Group match.
