The League of National Patriots is set to sensitisize and encourage 1 million youths in Ogun to collect their permanent Voters Card (PVC).
The league made this known to journalists yesterday at a press centre Iweroyin, Okelewo Abeokuta, the capital of Ogun that “we must as youth deploy our presence in the forthcoming elections to sustain this great vision.”
The group added: “Therefore we have commenced a state wide sensitization process with the view to mobilizing our teaming youths to collect their PVCs.”
In this sensitization programme, the league hopes to sensitise one million strong youthful voters across the state before the 2019 General election.
“We as advocates of good governance and greater nation,our resolve is to champion a massive youth evangelism that is geared towards restoring our Faith and self believe in millions of youths across the state who may have completely lost Faith and perhaps given up on our electoral process,” the group said.
The sensitization which is tagged “NOT TOO YOUNG TO RUN” is to kick start soon from Moshood Abiola Stadium and end at the Governor’s house with the youths.
Also it is aimed at encouraging youths to take on the spirit of patriotism by coming out to contest, know their rights, to be independent minded.
Mr Abdulkareem Abdulahi, the founder and National coordinator of the league said: “The youths as presidents in some developed countries are not better but because they stood their ground and fought for their rights”
Youths, according to him, should make their votes count and make their choice of leadership not to allow people or so call leader or elders to choose for them come 2019 electionm
