A group Sunshine Study Group (SSG) has urged the Ondo state governor, Arakunrin Rotimi Akeredolu to put in place feasible and actionable framework for the implementation of its public policy document recently presented to the public saying there is need for a clear cut process and template that would allow for peoples participation across board.

The group also affirmed its commitment and support for the unity of the country which they say is not negotiable.

At a meeting of the group held at Cosmic hotel, Ijapo estate in Akure the state capital on Sunday , the group said the Ondo government need technical support to ensure appropriate policies were put in place and also implemented, reason why first rank professionals were drawn together to ensure the APC led government does not fail the people.

Coordinator of the group, Mr Bola Ajimuda told newsmen at the end of the meeting that the aim of the group is to provide professional and intellectual support to the administration in her quest to move the state forward.

“After a brief review of the Akeredolu led administration, the group commended the governor for exhibiting uncommon diligence and clarity of vision at instituting the apparatus of governance in a seamless and systemic manner.”

“Declare full support for the on-going peaceful agitation and quest for restructuring of our nation.

“Affirm the non- negotiability of the unity of Nigeria while emphasizing the rights of citizens to revisit the architecture of the relationship that define our corporate existence.

The group however express worries over the relegation of Ondo state in the scheme of things especially in the South West and even Nigeria promising to reverse the ugly trend.

Earlier at the occasion, the former Secretary to the state government (SSG) under late chief Michael Ajasin, first civilian governor of the state, Chief Michael A. Popoola addressing the group said the success of late Ajasin was due to his selflessness, dedication, honesty and integrity and the fact that he looked for intelligent people who could work with him to develop the state.

He stressed that at the time, the late chief Ajasin earned only 24 pounds as salary while he as SSG earned 17 pounds and they were not after state money for any reason adding that Chief Ajasin returned to his former house when he left government.

However he appealed to Governor Akeredolu to have priority like Ajasin who focused on education and ensure that he leaves a good mark.
