The Suletankarkar Local Government Council of Jigawa has selected the model Primary Healthcare Centres at Suletankarkar and Danzomo towns to commence 24-hour service delivery.

The Information Officer in charge of the council, Alhaji Daudu Sulaiman, made this known to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Dutse on Thursday.

According to him, the Head of the Primary Healthcare Department, Malam Abdullahi Maigatari, announced this during a taskforce meeting on polio immunisation in the area.

He quoted Maigatari saying that the state Primary Healthcare Development Agency (PHCDA) is making all necessary arrangements to provide the required equipment and personnel to ensure proper take off of the 24-hour service in the two health facilities.

Maigatari noted that the gesture was aimed at ensuring uninterrupted clinical services within the catchment areas of the health centres.

The Head of Water, Hygiene and Sanitation (WAHS) of the council, Alhaji Wada’u Sulaiman, commended health personnel, ad hoc staff and other stakeholders for the successful coverage in the previous round of polio immunisation in the area, the spokesman added.

On his part, the Caretaker Committee Chairman of the council, Alhaji Haladu Bulama, also commended the efforts of the PHCDA in providing quality healthcare services in the area.

Bulama also pledged the council’s readiness to continue to collaborate with the agency toward provision of quality healthcare services, particularly to rural dwellers.
