Kebbi Govt. releases N450m for teachers’ leave grant arrears

The Kebbi Government has released N450 million two years arrears of leave grant for primary school teachers.

The approval is contained in a statement signed by Alhaji Abubakar Dakingari, Chief Press Secretary to Gov. Atiku Bagudu, and made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Birnin Kebbi on Thursday.

It said that the payment was to encourage the teachers to perform optimally.

According to the statement, the leave grant is for 2016 and 2017, and will be paid in batches.

It said that N63.8 million would be released to pay the first batch of beneficiaries and N383 million for the second batch.

The statement reiterated government commitment to the promotion of teachers welfare and urged them to rededicate themselves to duty.
