Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra was on Friday released from Kuje Prisons, Abuja after he met his bail conditions.
Kanu, who has been in detention since 2015, was handed over to Senator Eyinaya Abaribe, one of those who stood surety for him on Friday evening.
Justice Binta Nyako of the Federal High Court in Abuja had last Tuesday granted Kanu who was standing trial for treason bail on health grounds.
The Judge, however, stipulated the bail conditions to include the presentation of three sureties – a serving Senator, a Judaic priest and a highly respected Nigerian with landed property in Abuja.
Justice Nyako also said the IPOB leader must not grant any press interviews or be seen in a gathering of more than 10 persons while on bail.
The Biafran agitator was returned to Kuje Prison, pending the fulfilment the bail conditions generally described as tough by analysts.
But Kanu was able to perfect his bail conditions on Friday following which he was handed over to Senator Abaribe
