Nnamdi Kanu

Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB has been granted bail by Justice Bintu Nyako of Federal High court, Abuja.

The Judge said the bail was to enable the leader of the Biafra secessionist group to attend to his failing health as requested by his lawyers.

Kanu is to produce three sureties with N100 million each as conditions to enjoy the bail, Justice Nyako said on Tuesday.

The Judge also barred him from being seen in a gathering involving more than 10 people as well as granting press interviews or addressing rallies.

The Judge however refused the separate bail applications filed three others being tried alongside Kanu.

The Court also refused to set aside its earlier order granting protection to prosecution witnesses to enable them to testify behind a screen or disguise their identities during proceedings.

Governor Ayodele Fayose witnessed Tuesday’s court proceeding.
