Edo State House of Assembly has given a nod to Governor Godwin Obaseki’s request to appoint 12 Special Advisers.
The approval which was given at plenary on Tuesday, was sequel to the request letter signed by the Governor and dated April 3.
The Majority Leader of the House (Owan East constituency), said the Governor had been thorough in his selection of nominees to hold key positions in the State.
On his part, the Speaker, Justin Okonoboh, noted that the appointment of the 12 Special Advisers would enhance governance in the State.
Meanwhile, the House has also approved the appointment of Mr. Raphael Okhani, Egbe Godwin, Efosa Edenene, Frank Osazuwa and Jona Ifada as Chairman and member of the Edo House of Assembly Service Commission.
The approval for the appointment of the nominees followed the expiration of the tenure of the former members of the Commission on March 20, 2017.
The Speaker, Justin Okonoboh, thereafter directed that clean copies of the approval be sent to the Governor for his accent.
