Former members of All progressives Congress, in ward 6 of the Emohua local government area of Rivers state visited Chief Emeh Glory Emeh on Monday in Port Harcourt, to announce their exit from the APC and declaring support and loyalty for the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

Speaking at the occasion, the leader of the delegation and until his defection, Auditor of the APC in Emohua Local government area, Emmanuel Egburuwhuo, said they were neglected and suffering in silence in their former party, and contemplating to leave before they heard of the defection of Barrister Glory Emeh, and the decision of the seasoned politician inspired them to return to the PDP.

Another group of former APC members from Ogbakiri wards 1 and 2 were also at Chief Emeh’s house in Port Harcourt the same day to announce their decision to follow him to the PDP.

In his speech at the occasion, the leader of the group, Monday Bekweri Owhonda, who claimed to have worked closely with an immediate past commissioner from the area, said they visited Chief Emeh to let him know that they have also left APC, the same way he left, lamenting that “there is no change in the APC”.

In his response, Chief Emeh Glory Emeh, a former Commissioner in the state and former Chief of Staff, Rivers State Government House, lauded them for the decision, and thanked them for the visit. He urged them to be steadfast by pledging their usual huge support for their new party at all times.

Emeh Informed his guests that he left the APC because the party was not organised and lacked focus and assured them that Governor Ezenwo Nyesom Wike is very accommodative, and committed to fulfilling the legitimate expectations of Rivers people.

It would be recalled that since Chief Emeh Glory Emeh announced his return to the PDP, his house has become a Mecca of sorts, as individuals and groups troop in daily to congratulate him for what they describe as a very wise decision, and also to inform him of their own decisions to also leave the APC for the ruling party in Rivers State.
