Kidnapped landlord regains freedom in Lagos

The Secretary of Ikosi North Estate Landlord Association in Lagos State, Mr Dayo Adekoya, kidnapped by some gunmen on Feb.9, had regained his freedom.

The Commissioner of Police in Lagos state, Mr Fatai Owoseni, who confirmed his released to newsmen on Monday in Lagos, did not say if ransom was paid.

He said that the secretary who was in good health, had since been reunited with his family.

The commissioner said that the police and other security agents were still after the suspects.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that some gunmen, on Feb. 9, kidnapped Adekoya and killed three security men guarding the estate.

The suspects had demanded for a N50 million ransom from the secretary to regain his freedom. (NAN)
